Our Founder
Shira Kalfa is founder and principal lawyer at Kalfa Law. Shira’s practice is focused in corporate-commercial and private M&A law, including tax-driven corporate reorganizations, business establishment, equity funding, private placements, commercial financing, secured and unsecured lending, commercial leasing and contract law. Shira’s specialization in private M&A law has allowed her to work within a variety of industries ranging from construction to hospitality, education, manufacturing, health care, fitness, retail, wholesale, real estate and others, managing approximately 50+ business transactions a year.
Shira specializes in serving small to medium-sized businesses with an enterprise value ranging from $1 million to $30 million. With a history working in tax law, Shira also provides her clients with tax planning advice to minimize tax obligations, primarily for small business owners in the context of the sale or purchase of a small business. A particular focus of her work is within tax-driven corporate reorganizations and planning strategies such as section 85, 86, purifications, butterflies and the like.
